A Day in the Life:
This position leads the overall operational activities at a grain elevator. This includes but is not limited to day-to-day operations, maintenance oversight and direction, management and responsibility of operational expenses, implementation and oversight of the company safety program with the overall objective of meeting continuous changing business needs required to keep the facility operating in a safe, efficient and competitive manner.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Direct all functions of operations to ensure best practices and that employees adhere to proper safe work practices and maintenance programs.
- Drive the operational excellence, continuous improvement, safety and environmental programs at the elevator to ensure a productive, safe working.
- Manage grain inventories, storage, grain quality, blending techniques and barge/truck scheduling.
- Manage the operational expenses associated with the annual budget, collaborate with others to develop long range business plans and create/execute the annual capital expenditure plan to maintain the integrity of the facility and grow the business.
- Oversee all major strategic projects to ensure targets are met.
- Maintain company specific software and operation systems.
- Manage the hiring and training/development processes.
- Technical College Degree/Certification and 5 year’s elevator experience or equivalent preferred.
- Proficient in company specific software and operation systems.
- Solid computer skills, including Email, Excel, Microsoft Word, and other technical software packages is preferred.
- Expert understanding of policies and procedures.
- Exceptional people management skills and ability to develop staff members.
- Strong understanding of P&L preferred.
- Strong communication skills required.
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills required.
