Summary :
A Design Manager is responsible for assisting the Head of Design in maintaining design intent at all existing Bunkhouse properties, the planning and execution of Capital Expenditure projects and purchases at properties, overseeing FF&E at new properties post hotel design / opening. In addition to assisting the Head of Design with various tasks, the Design Manager is also responsible for keeping the design department organized, managing vendors, purchasing, and ordering & returning samples.The person in this position must have excellent communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict and a thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies. Furthermore, a Design Manager has the responsibility of developing and maintaining the hotel’s culture, values and reputation in the public eye, and with all staff, guests, vendors and partners.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
MS, BFA or BS in interior design or architecture with excellent design skills preferred, but not requiredTwo (2) years related experience in hospitality design industry or architecture / interior designMust have direct experience in managing multiple projects, clients, and / or complex consultant relationshipsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to speak effectively before groups of co-workers and sister property staffAbility to create documents in Excel and WordAbility to understand other computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Design, Mac programs, InDesign, Autocad, Sketch Up, BIM, and BlueBeam)Ability to apply concepts of math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and algebra, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Rendering skills for interior elevations, plans, finishes and furnitureBunkhouse is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
