Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Hydrogeology Intern to join our Solid Waste and Mining Hydrogeology group for the Summer 2025 term. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in hydrogeological assessments, geologic evaluations, and environmental consulting. The intern will work closely with experienced hydrogeologists and contribute to various projects related to groundwater assessments, geologic mapping, and water quality monitoring.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree an undergraduate or graduate degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with GIS applications is preferred.
- Familiarity with groundwater modeling software is preferred but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in outdoor field conditions.
- While a technical degree in engineering technology, GIS, or construction engineering technology is preferred, the job does not explicitly require a degree as long as the candidate has relevant experience or training.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in fieldwork activities, including groundwater sampling, well installation, and monitoring.
- Support data collection and analysis for hydrogeological studies.
- Conduct literature reviews and assist in the preparation of technical reports.
- Help with GIS mapping and spatial analysis.
- Collaborate with team members on project planning and execution.
