Job Description
As a Safety Coordinator for Bunnell Lammons Engineering, Inc. (BLE), you will be responsible for leading our company's safety initiatives by planning, implementing, and supervising our onsite safety program to ensure compliance with our safety philosophy. This role includes enforcing safety standards, conducting regular site inspections, coordinating safety training sessions, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations. Additional duties may include incident investigation, maintaining safety documentation, and working closely with team members to promote a safe and healthy work environment.:
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, safety science, industrial hygiene, or related scientific or technical fields.
- 5 years of general A/E/C experience with an emphasis on safety.
- Currently certified or have the ability to obtain the following certifications within six (6) months after starting date: OSHA 10, OSHA 30, OSHA 500, OSHA 510, First Aid/CPR Trainer, and HAZWOPER 40
- Must have previous experience conducting Safety Audits, Accident Investigations, and writing procedural manuals.
- Understanding of applicable federal, state, local and industry regulations. Ability to recognize onsite risk factors and take appropriate action with firmness and tact.

What you will be doing daily
- Research new regulations and developments in the field of Health and Safety and recommend changes in the company's program.
- Assist in the documentation and implementation of required or desired changes in the safety program and safety manual.
- Serve as the Chair of the Safety Committee and leads the committee on discussion and evaluation of all company safety programs and policies, as well as implementation.
- Maintains OSHA logs and posts logs annually.
- Completes client safety qualification questionnaires.
- Works with department managers to outline new hire safety training and ensures each new hire completes training within their first thirty (30 days).
- Conducts bi-annual driver safety training for all BLE drivers.
- Writes job specific safety plans; schedules job-site visits and safety audits.
- Ensures full compliance of safety plan.
- Controls hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee practices through site visits, safety plans, and education of all supervisory personnel
- Reinforces safety awareness in a manner that promotes cooperation and fosters a company culture of safety.
- Creates a working atmosphere that promotes openness and a prominent level of enthusiasm and morale in the field.
- Assists HR in reporting of Experience Modification Factor (EMF)
- Work in coordination with HR and the Department Managers on any work-related incidents to expedite an employee's return to work.
- Conducts work area inspections and assists in Workers Comp Injury investigations.
- Accompanying all safety, health, and insurance inspectors on walk through inspections
- Provides job orientation to crew at jobsites.
- Maintain a corporate safety library (e.g., videos, regulations, reference manuals)
- Promotes safety and health awareness through internal company communication and training programs.
