Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate should have experience in meat cutting, portioning, and display preparation while following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Wash meat with cold water and prepare various cuts, including catfish, steak, pork, and lamb.
- Maintain a well-stocked meat case.
- Cut and prepare specific meats such as T-Bone, New York, Ribeye, Chuck Rolls, and Bottom Round as per display and storage needs.
- Portion and package meats, label them with prices, and ensure proper storage in coolers and freezers.
- Prepare smoked and fresh pork, turkey, and lamb products for sale.
- Check and restock meat inventory before the end of the shift.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a butcher or meat cutter required.
- Knowledge of different meat cuts, portioning, and storage techniques.
- Ability to work in a cold environment and lift heavy items.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain a clean workspace.
