JOB PURPOSE
In partnership with Merchandising and Planning teams, the Merchandising Assistant maximizes the potential of the business at the store and style level through strategic management of merchandise, inventory optimization, and actionable reporting and analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work effectively as a member of a cross- functional department team (Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, and Replenishment) by focusing on team objectives and communicating clearly.
- Assist the Merchandiser with product selection, assortment and competitive shop and pricing analysis
- Prepare and maintain assortment plan forms and grids
- Participate in Open To Buy discussions to develop understanding of key financial concepts and components.
- Ensure all price changes and in store promotions are entered and set up properly in system for RIS team to communicate to stores
- Communicate with supply chain to ensure availability and timely delivery of merchandise to the HUB
- Responsible for all PO maintenance, including order creation / entry and tracking keeping in line with SAP processes; identify and resolve any order tracking issues.
- Provide effective communication to stores; drive biweekly newsletter with departmental updates, i.e. selling, delivery etc.
- Provide stores with product information and seasonal lookbooks to assist in driving sales
- Solicit sales associate product feedback, opportunities and issues and communicate back to Buyer
- Participate in store visits to enhance knowledge of customer base and store operations.
- Partner with Marketing department and Buyer to track seasonal campaigns on a weekly basis to identify performance against the buy
