We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team and work with our accounting department to oversee our organization’s expenses. You will work with our accounting team and other departments to ensure our organization’s expenditures are accurate and recorded timely, and our accounting practices are standardized across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Charge expenses to accounts and departments
- Verify vendor accounts, and resolve purchase order, invoice and/or payment discrepancies
- Managing accounts payable inbox using accounting software and other programs
- Handling accounts payable for multiple subsidiaries and vendors
- Analyzing workflow processes and providing improvements for efficiency and productivity
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
- Ensuring bills are processed in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
- Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges and resolving any noted variances or issues
- Other misc. AP duties as assigned
Requirements and skills
- Proven work experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role (manufacturing AP experience a plus, i.e. PO and receipt matching)
- In-depth knowledge of accounts payable principles and accounting standards
- Great time management and organizational skills
- Excellent collaboration, teamwork, and communication abilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to change and adapt to new processes and suggest process improvements as needed
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Adobe
- NetSuite and/or Concur experience a plus
