About the Role
We are seeking a Construction Estimator to join our team!
This role is essential in preparing accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for commercial construction projects.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and knowledgeable about construction materials, labor, and industry trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze plans, specifications, and project documents to prepare precise cost estimates.
- Develop and submit hard bid and plan & spec estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers to obtain pricing and ensure cost accuracy.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to costs, labor, and materials.
- Maintain and update estimating databases to ensure competitive pricing strategies.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bid proposals under tight deadlines.
- Work closely with clients, architects, and engineers to clarify project scope and requirements.
- Stay informed on market trends, material costs, and construction industry regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- 5 years of estimating experience in commercial construction, with a focus on hard bid/plan & spec projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and cost structures.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, ProEst).
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
