Job Overview:
We are seeking a Civil Estimator with site development and earthwork estimating experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and bids for civil construction projects, including site development, grading, and excavation. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and knowledge of earthwork, utilities, and site preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for site development and earthwork projects.
- Develop and submit hard bid and plan & spec estimates for civil construction projects.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers to obtain pricing and ensure cost accuracy.
- Identify and mitigate potential project risks related to excavation, grading, utilities, and material costs.
- Maintain and update estimating databases, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing strategies.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bid proposals within tight deadlines.
- Work closely with clients, architects, and engineers to clarify project scope and requirements.
- Stay up to date with market trends, material costs, and construction industry regulations.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- 5 years of estimating experience in site development and earthwork construction.
- Strong knowledge of grading, excavation, underground utilities, and civil construction methods.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek, Bluebeam).
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
