**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Specialist to join our team at the Bureau of Reclamation. As a Civil Engineering Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our water infrastructure systems.
**Responsibilities:
- Prepare general layouts, engineering designs, drawings, and cost estimates for projects such as dams, power-plants, pumping plants, transportation, building construction, recreational areas, and irrigation distribution systems.
- Perform water and weather data collection methods and equipment or devices for the accurate measurement of water in reservoirs, rivers, and canals.
- Ability to compute average daily release, diversion, and bypass quantities.
- Ability to adjust or repair equipment to ensure that the best possible data is being obtained, compiled, and reported.
- Works with and maintains contacts with higher graded technicians, computer specialists, engineers, geologists, and other Regional and Area Office Staff to accomplish duties.
**Requirements:
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- You must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation.

- You must maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times as the position requires operation of government vehicles on government and public roads.
**Qualifications:
- To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying.
- For the GS-09 Level: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three (3) of five (9) of the following:
- Computing water release.
- Operating and maintaining electronic weather station and related equipment.
- Experience in stream gaging equipment.
- Adjusting or repairing stream gaging equipment.
- Maintaining electronic systems that record data and transmit via hard wire or wireless connections.
- OR Education: Successful completion of at least two full years (36 semester/54 quarter hours) of graduate level education or a master's degree in which the coursework is directly related to the work of the position.
