Hours Worked : Monday through Friday, 1st shift, forty hours per week. However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.

Compensation Range :   $18 - $19 an hour (., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as locations, education, experience, and skillset).

Position Summary :

The Media Lab Analyst is responsible for assisting the client and other ATL coworkers with the preparation of media and other lab consumables, as well as daily sterilization of goods using autoclaves. Media and other products are prepared using client-specific methods, protocols, batch sheets. Associate will ensure a sterile / aseptic work environment at all times. Analyst will work with researchers to prepare and test any novel media preparations. Analyst will preform weekly QC / QA and maintain accurate data sheets.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Will maintain a clean, organized, sterile, work environment utilizing the principles of aseptic technique
• Create media by weighing compounds, pipette solutions, and following prepared batch sheets to produce a variety of solid and liquid medias, as well as other regularly consumed solutions.
• Perform basic calculations to scale up or down protocols
• Use basic scientific instruments, such as pH meter, balances, hot plates, and stir plates.
• Perform daily sterilization of goods utilizing autoclaves.
• Deliver of goods to designated locations.
• Perform Quality control checks for each batch to ensure the standards and sterility of goods.
• Perform basic data analysis and report finding to client.
• Report and record all procedures, data, etc. in client lab note booking systems according to client specifications
• Order, organize, restock, and maintain supplies / lab bench / materials as needed. Complete other housekeeping work as needed.
• Assist with other work or special projects with Microbiology department as needed.
• Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and in the company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Comply with clients and company management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
• Follows the guidelines set forth in by clients and the company Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan.
• Other duties as assigned.
