Position Title: Electromechanical Technician Level I -RAD

FLSA: Hourly


Hours Worked:
Monday through Friday, forty hours per week. However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.


Compensation Range: $25 an hour (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as locations, education, experience, and skillset).


Position Summary:

The Electromechanical Technician Level I is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing automated machinery and computer-controlled mechanical systems by combining knowledge of both electrical and mechanical principles, often working on complex equipment like robotics, automated production lines, or specialized machinery, requiring them to read blueprints, troubleshoot issues, and perform calibrations to ensure proper operation across electrical and mechanical components within a system; essentially bridging the gap between electrical and mechanical systems in industrial settings.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural and functional evaluations of robotic surgical instrumentation using custom built test stands, axial load frames and other test equipment
  • Operate Tensile/Compression testing equipment, automation & electronics testing equipment
  • Use function generators, digital multi-meters & other test equipment for electrical measurements
  • Communicate with engineers to understand test request requirements to ensure accurate results and customer-satisfaction
  • Summarize data in a report format relaying test details to appropriate personnel in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist with testing in the animal tissue lab
  • Creates trust with partners, clients and teams & delivers solutions. shows consistency between words and actions.

Skills & Proficiencies:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate findings to Engineers and team members
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis processes, along with experience troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Excellent understanding of engineering concepts (mechanisms, fixtures, tooling, etc.)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Must possess strong ability to work well under pressure meeting deadlines in an ever-changing environment
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills and customer-service focused
  • Detail-oriented and great organizational skills


Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in STEM related discipline OR 2 years of hands-on product testing in a laboratory setting
  • 1 years’ experience with Tensile/Compression/Strength testing (Instron/MTS)
    • Experience working in a highly regulated industry

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.
