Burgess Construction Consultants, Inc. is a nationally recognized residential construction consulting firm that offers expert services in the construction industry. We are currently seeking a Texas State Certified Plumbing Inspector for our team in the Bastrop, TX area. As a Municipal Services Consultant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of field reports, performing inspections, providing client instructions, and managing scheduling in the absence of the Director of Municipal Services.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform inspections and consultations for single-family, multi-family, and commercial buildings (new or remodeled).
Inspect systems requiring permits, including water heaters, roofing, HVAC, storm drains, sanitary sewer systems, water supply distribution systems, and street paving.
Communicate with builders / supervisors about inspection details, such as the time and scope of inspection, and invite them to walk through with the consultant.
Mark homes according to division requirements using the appropriate tools.
Record inspection results on the company-issued tablet or phone.
Identify defects, educate builders on the issues, and provide solutions for future prevention.
Ensure compliance with codes per the inspection checklist.
Review architectural plans to ensure that buildings comply with codes.
Follow all safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and company-approved attire (e.g., hard hats).
Follow company policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

Working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, foundations, framing construction, roofing, drainage, and electrical systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google Docs, and Adobe (or similar software).
Ability to earn certifications, including ICC Residential Combo certification within the first year of employment.
Education and Experience :
High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
Texas State Certified Plumbing Inspector.
Residential Combo or Commercial Combo Certification preferred.
3 years of experience in volume residential, multi-family, or commercial construction.
2 years of building inspection experience.
Physical Requirements :
Frequent sitting and use of a tablet or phone.
Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Ability to inspect with close vision, color vision, depth perception, and adjust focus.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Must wear required PPE (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses).
Ability to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
