What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Pharmacist position at Burgess Information Systems?
**MUST BE A MICHIGAN RESIDENT** **POSITION IS FULL TIME ON SITE**
Primary Duties:
- Provide review and evaluation of utilization data for areas of improvement for both clinical impact and cost effectiveness of the pharmacy program for renewals.
- Analyze monthly claims data and provide client feedback to Client Services/Sales as needed.
- Ensure appropriate quality controls and initiates opportunities for performance improvement in pharmacy/practice.
- Advise the Client Services/Sales team on pharmacy drug utilization review (DUR) issues.
- Serve as Clinical Liaison with Client Services Implementation team.
- Participate on quarterly Pharmacy & Therapeutics Review Committee.
- Develop and/or implement clinical pharmacy programs in collaboration with client retention initiatives.
- Coordinate all efforts related Plan/Patient Assistance programs related to client management.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by conducting research and by attending educational and technological workshops.
- Provide supportive clinical/data information for Quoting/Analytics division.
- Generate reporting on performance metrics related to client savings etc.
- Assist with pharmacy claim audits as needed.
- Duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Advanced education in pharmacy (Pharm D) a plus.
- Minimum five years experience in retail or hospital pharmacy.
- Clinical pharmacy experience in managed healthcare preferred.
- Must have strong customer service orientation and excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients, pharmacies and plan members.
- Proficient PC skills in Windows-based applications.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to the changing needs in the department.
