Amsted Automotive, Geneva Powder Metal Operation, seeks a Maintenance Manager responsible for ensuring that the facility, layout, and machinery used to produce powder metal parts run to their maximum efficiency and output. This includes total preventative, predictive maintenance, and reactive maintenance to all production equipment and facility up keep. Driving our continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by identifying deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes. WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance;
- Ensure team is trained and following all AAG safety practices, OSHA standards.
- Prepare documentation and work flows to meet and exceed IATF, insurance company, and customer audits.
- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on maintenance activities;
- Develop, participate and provide follow up to corrective, preventive, predictive, and TPM;
- Manage, coach and develop a high performing maintenance team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practices results, added value and continuous improvements;
- Continuously improve our Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to deliver effectively;
- Manage capital project budgets, proposals, scheduling, delivery and installation;
- Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of company equipment and parts, including root cause analysis and problem-solving;
- Continuously improve our key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility;
- Utilize our CMMS (emaint) software to document equipment issues and develop overall plan to predict machine maintenance failures and mitigate machine downtime;
- Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal, safety, and company requirements;
- Prepare the annual maintenance budget and forecasts and all capital expenditure proposals to ensure compliance with legal standards. Manage the budget from the identification to completion of projects;
- Ensure the execution of the People Strategy within maintenance; ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of employees and visitors;
- Communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Extensive plant level experience with significant proven manufacturing management experience.
- Thorough understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), IATF, lean manufacturing and quality documents including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Experience of managing Profit and Loss responsibilities for maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, robotic and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Exposure to ISO / IATF requirements.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership and manufacturing management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members.
- Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to manage daily / weekly maintenance tasks.
- Demonstrated career growth in terms of number of direct report subordinates, including experienced doing performance appraisals, handling disciplinary issues, and management of shop floor personnel.
- Demonstrated experience related to the manufacturing processes of metal forming, heat treating, machining, and grinding.
- Demonstrated track record of being results driven while managing multiple priorities.
- Must be an individual with the highest ethical standards who is a strong communicator capable of motivating and leading individuals to perform at their best.
