WHAT YOU’LL DO
Amsted Automotive, Cold Form and Finishing in Geneva, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician 1 to perform complex electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical general repairs throughout the plant on the 2nd Shift. Work from instructions, prints, mechanical drawings, schematics and process specifications to :
- Independently troubleshoot problems and complete corrective actions on all electronic equipment including CNC equipment and programmable logic controllers.
- Complete initial installations and set-up for all electronic equipment including CNC equipment and programmable logic controllers.
- Complete all electrical testing.
- Prepare requisitions for all spare and repair parts as required for presentation to department head / activity leader / team leader.
- Assist and advise outside contractors on project work to be completed.
- Plan and implement all new electrical systems.
- Perform all general electrical repairs.
- Assist and advise Engineering and other support groups as required.
- Perform necessary recordkeeping and paperwork.
- Train and assist operators and other maintenance personnel as required.
- Perform necessary periodic maintenance on machines as required.
- Use various electrical testing devices, programming equipment and chemicals according to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
- Perform material handling activities using equipment, including forklifts, according to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
- Participate in team problem solving as part of the departmental continuous improvement process.
- Understands and performs work functions related to significant environment aspects located within a respective area.
- Follow all safety rules and keep work area clean and in an orderly condition.
- Wear all personal protective equipment as required by the safety policy.
- Be responsible and accountable for the professional use of assigned work periods, machinery, equipment and tools.
- Understand and perform to the BN Quality Policy taking pride in the products produced.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Education :
High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and / or experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. Must successfully complete the pre-hire math test.
Experience :
Minimum of 5 years experience in a maintenance function.
Skills & Knowledge :
Electrical, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical and hydraulic analysis and repair.
Forklift operation

Work is performed in a typical manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, grease, carbon, coolants, with several elements continuously present to the extent of being objectionable. Full-time position. May require overtime and weekend hours.
