Job Type: Part Time / HOurs are 5-9 PM Monday - Fri 20 hours a week / One Saturday a month

Position Overview: The Safety Officer will oversee the safety, health, and environmental programs within our company. This individual will be tasked with creating a safe working environment for employees and clients, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Safety Officer will work closely with management to monitor safety procedures and practices across all cleaning operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement safety policies and procedures for cleaning operations.
Conduct regular safety inspections of worksites, cleaning equipment, and tools.
Provide safety training to staff on safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Conduct risk assessments to identify hazards in the workplace and propose mitigation strategies.
Monitor compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
Investigate accidents and incidents, documenting findings and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Prepare and maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation.
Ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE) is available and used appropriately.
Collaborate with management to ensure all safety practices align with company objectives.
Guide emergency procedures and coordinate drills as necessary.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role, preferably in the cleaning industry.
In-depth knowledge of OHS regulations and safety standards.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to conduct safety audits and identify hazards.
Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is preferred.
First aid and CPR certification is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
