The Job
Dishwashers are responsible for cleaning dishes to ensure that the kitchen has a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans, and glasses. Duties include prioritizing loads of different types of kitchenware, hand-washing certain items, operating the dishwasher, and organizing clean items for drying and storage. Successful candidates in this role are team-oriented, adaptable to shifting priorities, and able to communicate effectively with coworkers. This position requires the ability to perform repetitive tasks and remain on task in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain sanitary condition of dishes, utensils, glasses, pots, pans, equipment and kitchen in accordance with kitchen standards
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment
- Safely and efficiently operates dish washing machine
- Ensures proper soap and rinse chemicals are loaded for washing
- Removes from service any dishes, utensils, and glassware that are damaged or broken
- Helps stock delivered food and non-food items
- Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all coworkers
- Support other functions as assigned including but not limited to:
- Prep work
- Taking trash and recycling to dumpster area
- Washing work areas, refrigerators, cooking equipment, walls and floors
- Coverage of sick/vacation days of other staff members
Who We’re Looking For
- At least 1 year of relative experience preferred
- 18 years of age or older
- Willingness to work mornings, nights, and weekend
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to place cases, pans, utensils and plates on both low and high shelves
- Able to work in hot and damp environments and tight work spaces
