General Description
Burke Industries is a community-based program dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence and productivity. The Director of Burke Industries oversees the implementation, management, supervision, and evaluation of all Day Habilitation and Vocational Service Programs. This role ensures that all policies and procedures are followed, using a person-directed approach focused on helping each consumer identify and achieve their individual goals.
Education
Required: Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services, Health Sciences, Business, or Management from an accredited college or university.
Experience
Required: A minimum of five (5) consecutive years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
Licenses/Certifications
Required: Valid Texas driver's license.
Special Requests or Comments
Required: Must be physically able to complete Satori Alternative to Managing Aggressive Behavior (SAMA), CPR, and First Aid training modules. Must have a driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator.
Physical Requirements
Required: Sight, hearing, talking, lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged sitting, walking, bending or kneeling, driving a vehicle, and hand/finger dexterity.
Hours
Monday - Friday; Generally, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., After-hours work may be required based on consumer needs. The Director of Burke Industries must remain accessible to consumers, staff, and families at all times.
