Substitute Teacher
General Responsibilities : To perform duties of a teacher to provide continuity in the day to day responsibilities during the absence of the regular teacher.
Duties and Expectations
- Report to the school office to pick up required materials and assignment for the day.
- Carry out a program of study outlined in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher.
- Ensure adequate supervision to assure the health, welfare and safety of all students.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of all students.
- Manage the classroom and communicate to students the standards of conduct expected.
- Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses and discipline problems to the appropriate authority or as soon as is reasonably possible.
- Take attendance in accordance with the school procedures.
- Be positive and respectful in your interactions with students and school personnel.
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
- Comply with the rules and expectations of the district and school.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information concerning staff, students and / or parents / guardians.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned by the building administrator(s) in accordance with the school and district practices.
