Painter
12 month position
The candidate must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Skill in the use and care of equipment and tools used in the painting trade
Filling holes, cracks, and joints
Working knowledge of the standard practices and methods of the painting trade
Responsibilities
- Uses the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing duties
- Prioritizes the safety of themselves and others around their work area
- Understands the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) of products being applied and how product(s) may impact themselves and others
- Applies paint to interior and exterior of buildings, furniture and other structures by brush, roller or spray equipment
- Prepares and cleans surfaces by use of sandpaper, burners, scrapers, sanding machines, dusters and paint removers
- Maintains a clean work area and leaves a quality finished product
- Properly cleans painting equipment and tools to mitigate the need for replacement
- Ability to routinely climb and work from ladders safely (3 points of contact)
- Work from elevated platforms: E.g. scissor lifts, atrium lift heights up to but not limited to 60' (Training and safety harnesses will be provided)
- Ability to work around students and staff
- Experience with drywall finishing preferred
- Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization
- Demonstrates time management skills and prioritizes work properly
- Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 2 years of experience in painting
- Must possess a valid driver's license

- Experience with drywall finishing preferred
