Position Title: Summer Intern-Technology
Reports To: Chief Information Officer
Position Statement: A Help Desk Intern is a student employee that assists the Help Desk Team provide quality technology support under the direct supervision of the Lead Computer Technician.
Student Interns are exposed to technologies and tasks that prepare their technology skills and work habits for future IT careers.
Responsibilities
Intern will be responsible for carrying out tasks as directed by the Chief Information Officer.
These include, but are not limited to, preparing devices for deployment, basic laptop repair, and preparation of technology for the 25-26 school year.
Essential Functions:
- Assist the Help Desk Team to deliver technology support.
- Assist with the deployment of new equipment.
- Assist with software installs.
- Assist in collecting information for the equipment inventory.
Goals of the Internship:
- Learn some of the many facets of Information Services and Technology
- Hands on learning experience in the technology arena
- Learn how to work with different types of personalities
- Develop leadership skills and become role models for other students
Calendar: The intern will work Monday-Friday during Summer Hours
Hours Per Week: up to 28 hours per week
Salary: $15.00 per hour-College Student
Qualifications
A successful candidate possesses basic computer knowledge and a willingness to learn new elements associated with information technology. Candidates should be able to lift 40 pounds. Essential dispositions include attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and punctuality.
