What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping/Receiving Clerk position at Burke E. Porter Machinery Company?
Responsibilities:
- Organizes items on project shelves to fill production orders and verifies information and quantities required
- Review shortage report with production orders so arrival dates of purchase parts may be communicated
- Controls all incoming and outgoing receipts of material through the Storeroom
- Reports monthly inventory accuracy by selecting bin locations and performing cycle counts
- Transfers PRP items from standard stock to project shelves as BAAN advice becomes available
- Collects and identify leftover project inventory. Report part numbers and quantities to Purchasing for evaluation. Transfers any parts that cannot be returned back into warehouse inventory as directed
Requirements:
- 3-4 years of shipping, receiving experience
- 3-4 years of previous inventory experience is preferred
- Previous experience using an ERP system
- Ability to safely operate a forklift
- Team Oriented; ability to communicate effectively and get along with fellow employees
- Regular attendance and daily punctuality are necessary
- Ability to work overtime when needed and occasional weekends required
- Extremely detailed orientated
- Clear, concise, and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Able to multitask and have high level of organizational skills
- Able to maintain a safe and clean work environment while complying with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations
- Computer skills in Excel, Word and email
