Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Salesman for a commissioned sales role at our Felton location. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, preferably in equipment or related industries, and a thorough understanding of the sales process. Your primary role will be to engage with customers, understand their needs, and guide them to the best product solutions, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively meet new customers through on-the-road sales activities, including door-to-door visits with a company-provided vehicle.
- Actively engage with customers to assess their needs and provide tailored product recommendations.
- Conduct demonstrations of equipment to showcase features and benefits.
- Meet and exceed sales targets, contributing to the team’s overall success.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Kubota and Toro products and industry trends.
- Participate in sales events and promotional activities.
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Appraising and selling used equipment when necessary.
- Deliver equipment directly to customers and provide comprehensive operational demonstrations to ensure they have a thorough understanding of how to use their new machine safely and effectively.
- Accurately record, collect, and complete all necessary financial data and paperwork, and manage related computer work to ensure seamless transactions.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times to represent the company's standards of excellence and respectability in every customer interaction.
Qualifications:
- Proven sales experience, with a background in equipment sales highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with a customer-oriented approach.
- High school diploma required; further education or certifications in sales or marketing are advantageous.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate the equipment sold.

Physical Demands:
- The position requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting, particularly when demonstrating and delivering equipment to customers.
- Candidates must be capable of driving company vehicles, including trucks and trailers, as part of daily duties.
- Operation of heavy machinery is required, necessitating physical dexterity and the ability to engage in repetitive motions.
- The role involves regularly lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds unaided.
- Daily interactions with customers and team members require clear communication and the ability to move efficiently around sales environments and outdoor settings.
