Job Summary and Responsibilities:
The associate will work directly with our general liability defense team, which specializes in defending companies and individuals in the following practice areas: construction, premise liability, professional liability, first party insurance, and transportation. This position is a unique opportunity for an experienced associate to further develop their legal skills in a highly collaborative and supportive setting. The ideal candidate will be able to:
· Research and analyze legal issues
· Draft pleadings
· Engage in all aspects of discovery, including conducting fact and expert depositions
· Represent clients in court
· Manage caseloads and schedules
· Advise clients on legal matters
· Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
· Prepare for and attend trials
· Handle administrative tasks such as billing and record keeping
The ideal candidate will meet these qualifications:
· 4-5 years of prior experience working in Insurance Defense
· Associate attorneys must be skilled in research, writing, and analysis
· They must be able to communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel
· Must have a strong attention to detail
· Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Must be able to work independently and manage a heavy workload
· They must also be licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia
