General Job Summary
Responsible for providing medical technology services to patients under the direction of providers and clinical supervisors. Adheres to Burke Primary Care policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care
Responsibilities
· Perform laboratory tests as appropriate
· Perform phlebotomies as required
· Perform venipuncture and capillary tests as appropriate
· Run daily controls and perform routine maintenance
· Process and send chemistry tests to appropriate vendor
· Enter all test results into practice software
· Sending lab results out as necessary
· Order supplies as necessary
· Place (i.e., pathology) specimens in appropriate pick-up areas
· Works all rejections as appropriate through working with business office staff and requesting diagnosis data from providers
· Perform all quality control measures as required by CLIA
· Assist clinical staff and business office staff as necessary during slow periods
· Perform additional functions as required by supervisor
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Certification in laboratory technology
Ability to operate a PC
Ability to operate laboratory equipment
Minimum of 2 years experience in physician office setting preferred
