What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Team Lead position at Burkentine Real Estate Group?
Oversee the processing of utility invoices and verification of transactions to ensure accuracy and timely payments to vendors and suppliers.
Manage the utilities payable team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies.
Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures to prevent errors and fraud in the accounts payable process.
Reconcile utility payable transactions with general ledger balances, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues to ensure accuracy in financial statements
Prepare and analyze utility accounts payable reports and metrics to assess performance and identify areas for improvement in the payment process.
Coordinate with the accounts payable department to ensure alignment in payable procedures.
Coordinate with 3rd party providers.
Handle complex utility inquiries and disputes, including resolving billing errors and negotiating adjustments or refunds to ensure fair and accurate transactions.
Requirements:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting Preferred1-3 Years of experience in payables with emphasis in utilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders
