Leasing Consultant – Virginia Beach, VA

We are currently accepting applications for a Leasing Consultant position in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Qualified applicants must have previous leasing and/or customer service experience. This full-time position requires availability Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM.

The successful leasing consultant will:
- Perform activities related to apartment rental and renewal: Providing apartment tours; Qualifying prospective residents; Preparing LIHTC and Section 8 documentation; Completing move-in procedures; Meeting with current residents regarding lease renewal and rates
- Maintain excellent resident relations: Provide superior customer service; Work with residents to provide solutions; Participate in resident promotions or functions
- Represent the property community in a positive manner and convey the benefits of the community to prospective residents
- Proactively participate in the team effort to accomplish desired results
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent customer service, follow-up, and follow through skills a must
- Ability to communicate effectively in order to communicate issues, problems, ideas, concerns and information on work progress
- Ability to interact positively with residents, employees, vendors and the general public
- Minimum of two years sales/leasing experience or equivalent preferred
- Previous project-based Section 8 and LIHTC experience a must
- Ability to follow directives and work with minimum supervision
- Familiar with operating office machines i.e. fax, copier, binders, etc
- Proficient computer skills such as to perform essential functions
- Basic math and bookkeeping skills required
- Must have basic understanding of the English language, and be able to communicate effectively and professionally
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record may be required.
