Part Time Maintenance Technician
Waco, TX
Burlington Capital Properties is now accepting applications for a part-time Maintenance Technician position at our Dripping Springs Senior Village property.
We pride ourselves in the quality living experience we provide to our residents and therefore are considering individuals with demonstrated abilities in the areas of leadership, maintenance, repairs and customer service. Maintenance team members protect and improve the overall appearance and maintenance of the property.
The hours for this position may vary but are expected to be 8:00AM – 12:00PM, Monday through Friday. This is not a benefits eligible position.
Essential job functions include:
- Maintain and/or improve the condition of homes to prepare them for new residents by providing basic home maintenance in the areas of touch up painting, dry walling, plumbing, floor coverings, electrical, carpentry work, and appliance repairs
- Troubleshoot, perform, and/or assist in the interior and exterior repairs to maintain apartments, common areas, buildings and grounds according to established procedures
- Regularly communicate with supervisor as to status of service requests, make ready units, etc.
- Follow all safety and liability guidelines as outlined
- Regularly inspect laundry facilities, common area rest rooms, etc. to ensure proper functioning and cleanliness
- Participate in resident functions as requested by Management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in maintenance or equivalent field required
- Working knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, pools and general building trades required
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record required
- HVAC certification preferred
- Ability to follow directives and work with minimum supervision
- Must have basic understanding of the English language and be able to communicate effectively
- Ability to interact positively with residents, employees, vendors and the general public
- Must be able bend, stoop, sit, stand, walk, climb stairs & ladder, to reach, lift, pull, push and lift or carry weight up to 75 pounds. Must have reliable transportation
