What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant/Toddler Teacher position at Burlington Children's Space?
The Burlington Children's Space is seeking an Early Childhood Educator to work as part of a co-teaching team in a looping classroom (infant/toddlers or preschool).
A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Human Development is required, a State License in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
This position includes health insurance, paid sick and vacation hours, and professional development opportunities. We have a fabulous food program supported by local farms and our own garden plot.
The Burlington Children's Space, housed in the McClure Multi-Generational Center, is an economically and culturally diverse NAEYC accredited program offering early care and education for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. Programming is based on influences from Reggio Emilia, Italy, the interests and curiosities of the children, and the unique culture and resources of our local community. The Burlington Children's Space is dedicated to serving all populations and tuition is based on a sliding scale.
Teachers at Burlington Children Space are a group of highly passionate and fun-loving individuals. We have the opportunity to go on trips to:
ECHO
The waterfront
Archibald Community Garden
Church Street
City parks
Shelburne Farms
The Intervale
Fletcher Free Library
These trips are funded by individual classroom funds from our annual Silent Auction. If you dream it, we can make it work!
In the classroom, teachers have the freedom to set up their classroom and create developmentally appropriate curriculum based on the children's interests and the teachers' passions. The sky is the limit! Currently the walls of our classrooms are covered with self portraits, huge painted canvases, tree cookie sculptures, pictures of children running through sprinklers, gardening and baking bread.
The Burlington Children's Space is an equal opportunity employer and affords equal opportunity and equal treatment to all persons in all employment matters without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, military status, sexual orientation, pregnancy, ancestry, disability, or any other protected category.
