What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Tech position at Burlington Graphic Systems, Inc.?
Basic Function
Maintenance of machinery and facilities. Performing preventative maintenance and/or the immediate repair of down machinery.
Specific Duties
- Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled
- Perform machine repairs to ensure reliability and longevity
- Troubleshooting and diagnosis of machinery
- This position is on call based on rotation – must be available as needed
- Must be available for overtime and work any shift assigned
- Adhere to all safety regulations including but not limited to lockout/tag out, OSHA, and fire safety
- Travel to our Elkhart, Indiana facility as needed for maintenance projects (once per quarter on average)
- Occasionally interact with vendors when securing parts and installation instructions
- Occasionally perform light electrical repairs and/or installation
- Help direct part-time summer help in grounds and building maintenance
- Keep immediate work area clean and orderly per 5S requirements
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Expertise/Training/Educational Qualifications and Requirements
- Relevant maintenance experience in an industrial setting (5 plus years preferred)
- Excellent mechanical abilities
- Project management skills
- Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
- Communication skills and the ability to work well with others
- Organizational skills
- Valid driver-license and acceptable driving history
- Self-motivated and work well under pressure
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
- Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics a plus
- Industrial automation and PLC experience a plus
- ISO9001 experience a plus
- Must supply own basic tools
