What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Operator position at Burlington Graphic Systems, Inc.?
Basic Function Set up, run and tear down all printing jobs while ensuring color, register, and print quality are acceptable according to customer and BGS specifications.
Specific Duties
- Set up all printing jobs. Submit 1st sheet to supervisor for approval of registration, color, and print quality.
- Run all jobs according to customer and BGS requirements, monitoring the process on a predetermined interval.
- Tear down and clean up all finished jobs.
- Always ensure product is within customer specifications.
- Record all info on in process documents. Store in run bag along with signed off approval sheet
- Preventive maintenance on machine as needed.
- Stop the press if any deviation from the first sheet occurs. Take appropriate action to rectify problem.
- Keep immediate work area clean and orderly.
- Help train racker on how to do their job, show them what to look for and what they can do to help you. This is a team effort with shared responsibilities.
- Read schedule as to what job runs first or in what order or priority
- All other duties as assigned.
