What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Retention Services - Site Based position at Burlington Housing Authority?
Burlington Housing Authority is looking for a full time Housing Retention Specialist in our Housing Retention and Services (HRS) department. The HRS Site Based position is responsible for supporting those who have mental health and substance use challenges and/or who have moved from homelessness to Bobbin Mill, Wharf Lane, and other BHA properties.
The position works closely with property management and other site-based staff to identify challenges and respond with appropriate direct service and coordination of community services, with a goal of eviction prevention and facilitating a healthy tenancy.
The HRS will evaluate effective site specific programming based on the unique needs of our residents, with the goal of promoting physical and emotional wellbeing, healthy tenancies, and housing retention.
Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in social work (or related field) with two to four years of experience, including experience with mental health and substance use supports. Must have experience with diverse and vulnerable populations. Excellent time-management and organizational skills, as well as effective verbal and written communication skills are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet navigation is also required.
