Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Specialist to oversee and manage all aspects of inventory tracking, cycle counting, and material forecasting for our manufacturing facility in Norristown, PA. This role is critical in ensuring accurate inventory management, supporting production operations, and providing insights for material planning and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Tracking and Cycle Counting:
- Track inventory manually as it is consumed during daily operations to ensure accurate and real-time stock levels.
- Perform daily cycle counts and participate in monthly and annual physical inventory counts.
- Reconcile discrepancies and report findings to relevant departments.
- Material Usage and Forecasting:
- Monitor and track the consumption of R&D materials, ensuring alignment with project needs and reporting usage to relevant stakeholders.
- Work with the supply chain team to calculate average material consumption based on production schedules.
- Provide regular material forecasts to the supply chain team to ensure timely procurement and availability to support operations.
- Non-Conformance and Material Disposition:
- Manage the disposition of materials and products as determined by the Non-Conformance Material Report (NCMR) process.
- Collaborate with quality and production teams to implement corrective actions and maintain compliance.
- Warehouse Optimization:
- Work with other departments to determine and implement the most optimal layout of the warehouse to support efficient inventory management.
- Identify opportunities for storage improvements and make recommendations for space utilization.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Report directly to the Norristown site leader, with a functional secondary "dotted line" to the supply chain manager.
- Provide regular updates on inventory status, consumption trends, and material forecasting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, production, and quality, to support overall operational efficiency.
Physical and Technical Requirements:
- Ability to routinely lift over 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to drive a forklift or willingness to be trained and certified.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in inventory management or supply chain preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in inventory management or a related role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with inventory tracking systems, manual inventory processes, and ERP systems (experience with Rootstock is a plus).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to analyze data and provide accurate material forecasts.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and best practices in inventory control.
