Burlington Medical is thrilled to provide a great career opportunity for Production Operators in Norristown, PA with one of the leading manufacturers and providers of radiation protection products.
Job Description:
- Safely operate various types of production equipment. Carry out related manufacturing tasks which include raw material weigh-out, forklift operation, housekeeping, shipping/receiving and facility maintenance
- Willing to do any manufacturing related job as needed; examples are warehousing, housekeeping, and forklift operation
- Ability to utilize basic computer skills
- Training is provided in the operation of the equipment and forklift if an applicant is otherwise qualified.
Job Requirements:
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. for various lengths of time
- Comfortable operating all production equipment and driving a forklift (current OSHA forklift driver certification is a plus).
- Capable of multitasking
- Mechanical aptitude
- Training is provided in the operation of the equipment and forklift if an applicant is otherwise qualified.
Job Duties:
- Operate machines that mix powdered metals/polymers and extrude into sheeted rolls used in the manufacture of radiation protective garments and shielding.
- Set and adjust controls to regulate mixing and extrusion process.
- Specify lengths and weights of rolls.
- Synchronize speed of extrusion.
- Locate defects on extruded products.
- Check for conformance to specifications.
- Operate and maintain machines, inspecting and packing final product.
- Assist with lab work for product research and development.
- General warehouse duties including inventory management and production floor cleaning &maintenance.
