What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk position at Burlington Medical?
Job Purpose:
The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for all outgoing orders and materials. The Shipping Clerk will also be responsible for maintaining the shipping work area to include housekeeping and inventory.
Job Duties:
Management of packaging materials inventories, packaging of products to be shipped, and arrangement of transportation services.
Supports the shipment of goods produced destined for sale to our customer base.
UPS/FedEx software is to be used effectively and understood for summary reporting on request.
General housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the warehouse and inventory areas.
Requires hands on cleaning and maintenance along with organization and people skills to coordinate with other departments and outside waste disposal vendor.
Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials and order to proper areas.
Documentation distribution.
Requires transfer of all original documents to Purchasing Supervisor for distribution:
Other related duties as directed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
High School Diploma
At least 1 year in a manufacturing environment.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
MS Office
UPS Software
FedEx Software
Qualifications:
Must have the ability to pay attention to detail.
Must have a good attendance record.
Must be able to be available for call-ins, overtime, and occasional weekend work.
