The Burlington School District and The Department of Multilingual Learners is seeking English Learner (EL) paraeducators for the Pathfinder EL Summer enrichment program at Burlington High School. The 4-week EL Pathfinder Program allows English Learners who are entering grades 9-12 to enhance their skills in English for academic purposes AND offers an opportunity to work on a multifaceted project to help educators learn more about the strengths and needs of multilingual learners. The program includes targeted skill development in Math and English, active learning and paid work experience for students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma plus at least 2 years of additional education
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in education or related field
- Commitment to work all 4 program weeks
Experience:
- Previous experience working with English language learners English content, academic language, and in project-based learning.
- Previous experience working in a summer learning program. Or understanding of summer learning preferred
- Experience working with Multilingual Liaisons or interpreters preferred.
