Burlington School District is seeking Speech/Language Pathologists to provide supports in an inclusive summer school environment for students at risk and with disabilities. Speech Pathologists will provide services in the classroom, in small groups, and individually as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License.
- Licensed in Speech/Language Pathology
- Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in closely working with, providing direct instruction to students with disability
- Experience in communicating and maintaining positive relationships with parents and guardians of students with intensive needs
- Ability to commit to work all 5 program weeks
- Experience or ability in co-teaching with regular education teachers
- Ability to train and supervise para-educators
- Experience in working with ELL students who have language development needs desirable
- Knowledge of best practices in engaging and motivating students and managing student behaviors.
- Previous experience in Extended School Year programming is preferred
Dates and Position Hours:
In-Service Date: (TBD), 1 day
Program Dates: June 30-July 31. No July 4th. MONDAY-THURSDAY only. Staff work 8:30-12:30pm. Students attend 9-12pm.
K-5th grade programming will be held at JJ Flynn Elementary School and 6-12th grade programming will be at dt BHS.
Salary : $40
