Job Overview

The Foster Care Site Supervisor for Burlington United Methodist Family Services is a supervisory position that calls for a range of competencies and skills that are vital and critical in order to successfully administer, supervise, monitor, and operate a family foster care program that has been carefully planned and designed to attain the outcome service goals established for each young person in the program. The Foster Care Supervisor will also provide all services and essential duties required to complete their foster/adoptive position as per that job description.

Essential Duties:

  • Complete all essential duties assigned to their full-time position.

  • Train foster parents.

  • Identify and respond to training/education and ongoing support of our foster parents.

  • Coordinate services for foster parents and foster children.

  • Review and staff foster care placement with appropriate matches.

  • Participate in MDT meetings.

  • Provide court testimony.

  • Complete medical and social necessity referrals in Atrezzo.

  • Serve as a program liaison with other agencies.

  • Use supervision to cultivate and enhance employee learning and skills.

  • Participate in on-call response.

  • Complete all professional training required for this position to maintain competence.

  • Participate in all supervisory agency meetings.

  • Identify billing issues and resolve these issues with the billing manager.

  • Monitor employee productivity, provide constructive feedback, resolve issues, and serve as a link between staff and upper management.

  • Complete and submit performance reports.

  • Participate in interviewing and selecting new employees and oversee training and development of new employees.

  • Complete bi-weekly supervision meetings and monthly meetings with directors.

  • Complete file audits to ensure staff paperwork and billing reports are accurate and timely processed to the billing personnel.

  • Monitor PATH system to ensure accuracy and timeliness of notes/reports.

  • Involvement in all foster care crises and report, away from supervision and all crisis incidents to director.

  • Required driving position

  • This position is defined as one that will require you to drive a motor vehicle as part of your daily work. This position does allow the employee to drive motor vehicles owned or leased by Burlington United Methodist Services, Inc., and to transport employees and residents when and if necessary.

  • Performs other duties that fall within the parameters of this position.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • As listed above.

  • Supervision of at least six employees.

Qualifications

Education level:

  • Must be at least 21 years old and possess a bachelor's degree in social work or related human service fields (education, psychology, sociology).

    Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of postgraduate social work experience

  • Core competencies

    Required:

  • Possess knowledge of theories and practices in social work and state and federal laws.

  • Possess the ability to assess needs in the areas of social, educational, and economic circumstances to determine service needs.

  • Have knowledge and skills to utilize community and state resources.

  • Be able to communicate and work effectively with agency personnel and community and state agencies in a productive and professional manner

  • Can complete thorough written reports and data entry.

  • Can adhere to all guidelines and time requirements as stated in policy related to home finding.

  • Be an acceptable role model for youth values and lifestyles and in keeping with those ascribed by Burlington.

  • Use supervision to enhance employee learning and skills.

Preferred:

Social work license is preferred.

Certifications:

  • CANS is preferred

Licenses:

  • Driver’s license required

  • Social work license is preferred
