The BAR LEAD plays a key role in managing the bar, ensuring top-tier beverage service and maintaining an efficient, well-organized workspace. This individual will be responsible for cocktail creation, inventory management, staff training and upholding high service standards while fostering a fun and professional environment. The Bar Lead will be working alongside the Beverage Director, General Manager and Assistant General Manager.
The Ideal candidate must thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, maintaining a courteous demeanor with customers, as well as effectively making use of downtown.
Job Duties:
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Attend and participate in necessary department meetings as required
- Ensure that all systems and routines are incorporated into a day-to-day operations of the restaurant
- Exercise good judgement in decision-making and reporting issues to General Manager and Assistant General Manager, and Beverage Director
- Have a California Food Handlers license, Sexual Harassment certification and RBS (alcohol) license (before or within 2 weeks of hire date)
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily bar operations ensuring smooth service and exceptional guest experiences
- Create and curate a creative cocktail menu that aligns with the restaurant concept and seasonal offerings with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Beverage Director
- Train, mentor and support bartenders and barbacks to maintain consistency and high-quality service
- Manage inventory, ordering and supplier relationships to ensure proper stock levels and cost control
- Maintain a clean organized and compliant bar area adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Monitor beverage costs, pricing strategies and waste control to maximize profitability
- Work closely with the management team to develop drink specials, promotions and events
- Provide excellent guest service, engaging with customers to enhance their experience
- Ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with all local laws and regulations
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of bartending experience and 1 year of lead
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Strong leadership and customer service skills
- Excellent verbal communication and positive interpersonal skills required
- Ability to stand, lift and carry weight up to 30 pounds
- Strong knowledge of the menu
- Lead with proper uniform attire punctual with strong attendance record
