Job Description
Safely operate a ready-mix truck with timely deliveries and order accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete routine maintenance of equipment, including reporting minor mechanical issues in a timely manner and maintaining thorough cleanliness of the unit daily.
- Contribute to keeping areas in and around the plant clean and hazard-free.
- Comply with BURNCO policies and local, state, and federal regulations, including DOT and company driving requirements.
- Complete required paperwork, such as proper pre-trip/post-trip inspections (DVIRs) and work orders.
- Escalate concerns to supervisor.
- Cross train as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Accountabilities
- Understand and foster a safety culture.
- Safely drive and obey all traffic laws.
- Ensure truck maintenance and housekeeping are up to standard.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Maintain proper attendance while working irregular hours, including scheduled Saturdays.
- Work from other BURNCO plants based on business needs.
- Pass PSP, MVR, background check, drug test, and physical assessment.
- Manage emotions in stressful or frustrating situations.
- Learn various ready-mix designs and material components, such as admixtures, slump/water ratios, and concrete properties/consistencies.
- Demonstrate commitment to safety, customer service, and teamwork.
Education and Experience
- 23 years old with a valid CDL license preferred; 18 years old with a CDL permit accepted if approved by Colorado General Manager and USA President.
- 2 years of ready-mix experience or 1 year of commercial driving experience.
- FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse registration.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Pay Rate
$25 per hour and up.
Location
Aurora, CO.
Travel Requirement
100% local travel.
Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to:
- Stand for extended periods outside in varying weather conditions.
- Use eye/hand coordination and near/far vision regularly.
- Frequently stand, walk, sit, climb, bend, reach, lift to 50 lbs, carry up to 50 lbs, utilize manual dexterity, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, color discernment, and require active hearing/listening.
- Be exposed to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smokes, gasses, fumes, and aggregate materials.
Required PPE includes safety shoes above ankles, safety vests, safety glasses, ear plugs, and hard hats. Additional PPE may be required for special jobs.
