We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the dynamic day-to-day operations of our Ready-Mix Concrete division. With 9 plants at 7 locations, a fleet of over 150 mixer trucks, this role is pivotal to driving quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities :
Operational Leadership : Provide strong leadership for the daily operations of 7 ready-mix plant locations, ensuring efficient production and delivery of high-quality concrete products.
Fleet Management : Oversee the operation and maintenance of a fleet of 185 trucks, optimizing logistics, ensuring timely deliveries, and managing fleet costs.
Production Oversight : Maintain production schedules, uphold quality standards, and exceed customer expectations.
Champion Safety : Foster a culture of safety across all plants, ensuring adherence to OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations.
Cost Control : Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency in materials, labor, and fleet operations while meeting production targets.
Maintenance & Equipment Management : Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of assets across all plants and trucks.
Team Development : Mentor and develop area managers, cultivating a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
Continuous Improvement : Streamline processes, adopt innovative practices, and integrate newly acquired plants seamlessly.
Customer Service : Partner with sales and dispatch teams to fulfill customer orders with precision and care.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the construction materials or ready-mix concrete industry.
Proven experience overseeing multi-site plant locations and large fleets.
Expertise in concrete production processes, quality control, and delivery logistics.
Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations.
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
Analytical mindset with budget management experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with batching and fleet management software is a bonus.
