What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pit Foreman position at BURNCO LLC?
EXPECTED RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Lead mining team to accomplish operational goals established by Plant Manager
Load aggregate material onto haul trucks
Dirt moving and / or stripping when needed
Inspect, fuel, grease, and refill fluids on equipment as needed.
Perform routine inspections on equipment, complete minor equipment maintenance, report safety issues.
Utilize various hand tools as needed to complete daily job requirements
Help maintain a hazard free work environment by assisting in housekeeping and maintenance duties
Work with team members to complete operational priorities of the day, cross train in other job positions as needed
Follow all safety policies, including MSHA and company regulations.

Pay Rate : $28 per hour
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
3-5 yeas experience operating heavy equipment
Experience with excavators, dozer, blade operation, and front-end loader
Ability to use power tools, welders, cutting torches / chains and various safety devices
Self motivated and able to work effectively in small teams
Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills
Ability to work 12 hour shifts and weekends
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience working in aggregate industry a plus
Experience operating heavy equipment in a plant environment preferred
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
Less than 10% - as needed

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly outside and exposed to various weather conditions including hot / cold temperatures and rain / snow conditions.
Employee constantly sits, utilizes manual dexterity, uses fine motor skills, gross motor skills, eye / hand coordination, near / far vision and requires active hearing / listening.
Employee occasionally stands, walks, climbs, crawls, kneels, bends, reaches, lifts to 50 lbs, carries up to 50 lbs, pushes and pulls.
Employee is regularly exposed to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smokes, gasses, fumes and aggregate materials.
Required PPE includes safety shoes above ankles, safety vests, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hats. Additional PPE requirements needed for special jobs such as welding, repairing, etc.
