Deburr Operator - Machine Shop

Description

Seeking a Deburr Operator for a growing machine shop that duties include removing loose or fixed burrs, cleaning up sharp edges, polishing and blending machined surfaces of company products. Since the act of deburring can alter the dimensional aspects of company products it is imperative that the individual in charge of this task be accurate. Could lead into other positions in the machine shop. Will train.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Use grinding equipment with various types of grinding wheels and Scotch-Brite abrasive wheels to remove burrs. Remove and replace wheels when worn or defective.
• Use hand held deburring knives and pneumatic tools equipped with burr tools to remove heavy burrs.
• Use drill press equipped with burr tools to remove heavy burrs. Interchange & replace burr tools as required.
• Use sand paper to flat sand burrs, nicks, dings & scratches.
• Maintain a clean and well-lit workspace; organize all deburring tools and equipment; inform the Manager when replacements are necessary.
• Read and understand the following company documents: Quality Policy, Safety Manual and Company Policy.
• Maintain a clean, safe and orderly workplace.
• Understand and demonstrate safe operation of machines at all times.
• Understand and demonstrate Lean Principles; work to create an environment of continuous improvement and efficient productivity.
• Read, understand and work to Work Instructions and Work Orders as necessary.
  
  

Requirements

• One-year deburring experience working in a machine shop helpful
• Ability to perform basic operation and navigation functions on a computer.
• Detailed orientated and able to work in a production environment.
• Dependable and punctual
