What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lieutenant County Jail position at Burnet County?
This position is an employee of the Burnet County Sheriff's Office reporting directly to the jail Captain. The Lieutenant is a key position that must work closely with the management team of the jail to ensure the safe and secure operation of the jail. The Lieutenant is expected to perform all activities and responsibilities with respect for and without interruption to the jail staff, the chain of command and the policies and procedures of the Burnet County Sheriff. The Lieutenant is expected to accomplish the goals and objectives of the position.
The Lieutenant shall make the best possible effort to make a positive contribution to the overall operation and management of the Burnet County Jail. This position is classified as exempt under FLSA and the employee holding this rank is subject to call out 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or as directed by the elected official.
