Summary:

This is a position that provides support to the Information Technology Department by specializing in various IT tasks and related functions.

Essential Functions of the Position:

The following duties are illustrative and the person holding this position may be required to perform other duties of a similar nature or otherwise related to the position.

  • Maintains Microsoft Exchange/Office/Microsoft 365, and Azure
  • Create and maintain Laserfiche forms and workflows
  • Ability to manage Firewalls, VLAN’s, IDS Systems and switches
  • Maintains enterprise storage systems
  • Maintains virtualized infrastructures and associated tools and utilities
  • VMWare Administration
  • Knowledge of Powershell and ability to create scripts to support applications and workflows
  • SQL Database administration/ Maintains and creates SQL database/Create Database Views/SQL Reports
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots problems of users with applications, procedures, software, and hardware
  • Maintains managed printing infrastructure
  • Maintains physical and virtualized server infrastructure
  • Maintains and creates SQL databases
  • Knowledge and maintenance of IP telephone systems
  • Knowledge of Enterprise backup systems
  • Support County and shared systems including MS Windows Server, Office 365, MS SQL databases, Active Directory domain controllers, time systems, public safety systems, financial systems, inventory, Enterprise SAN (storage area network) and others
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required at the time of hire or for the continuation of employment.

  • Two-year associate degree in information technology and four-years related IT experience
  • Or 8 Years IT experience
  • Experience with network administration and server virtualization preferred
  • Experience with social media sources/Application Program Interfaces (APIs) preferred

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and to learn technical procedures with minimal help
  • Ability to stay abreast of advances in technology
  • Demonstrate effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to remain productive with frequent interruptions
  • Knowledge of hardware and software programs
  • Knowledge of computer networks
  • Knowledge of telephone and telecommunication systems
  • Knowledge of asset management and inventory controls

  • This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 40 pounds; work regularly requires sitting, frequently requires speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing pulling, and reaching with hands and arms
  • Work has standard vision requirements.
  • Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
  • Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels
  • Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities
  • Work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions
  • Work is primarily in an office setting
