What You’ll Do:
As our Plant Superintendent, you’ll be the driving force behind our cheese production floor. By supporting the Plant Manager you will lead teams, optimize processes, and ensure we deliver top-tier cheese every time. Your day will include:
- Coaching production supervisors and mentoring master operators
- Ensuring safe, efficient operations across shifts
- Collaborating cross-functionally to meet production goals
- Tackling challenges through root-cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Promoting a strong safety-first, people-focused culture
- In order to be successful in this position, you will need to understand and able to perform all positions in the facility.
What You Bring:
- 5 years of semi-soft cheesemaking experience (required)
- 4 years of supervisory/leadership experience (required)
- A knack for people management and cross-functional teamwork.
- A positive attitude to encourage your team
- Strong verbal and written communication, time management, and team building skills.
- Excellent identifying, analyzing, planning, organization and project management and problem-solving skills.
Tools of the Trade:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- ERP systems (Aptean experience = bonus points!)
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in a relevant field (preferred)
- Ability to obtain and maintain both a pasteurization certification and cheesemaker license (required).
- Experience in GMPs, HACCP, OSHA, FDA, USDA, and SQF standards
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus!
The Role is Active:
- You’ll be on your feet, lifting up to 60 lbs, climbing, stooping, moving with purpose—this role is for those who like to keep things moving!
- Ability to function in an active and demanding work environment is required
- Comfortable working in both hot, humid and cold environments
