Job Description
A law firm in Downtown Dallas is seeking an Accounting Clerk.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Working under the direction of the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Clerk will provide accounting and administrative support to the Accounting Department. Primary responsibilities include data entry, maintaining financial records, and assisting with Accounts Receivable. May also perform a variety of other accounting duties according to established policies and procedures. Candidate must be able to communicate both written and orally in a professional manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide accounting and administrative support to the Accounting Department.
- Type accurately, prepare, and maintain accounting documents and records.
- Record and document all received payments.
- Research and resolve vendor refunds and non-deposited items.
- Prepare backup documentation for payment processing.
- Accurately track and record all incoming and outgoing safe inventory.
- Respond to inquiries from clients regarding incoming payments.
- Provide receipt and expense documentation for the billing team, upon request.
- Attend in-house training sessions, and complete mandatory Security Awareness Programs.
- Assist in researching and resolving overpayments on client accounts.
- Assist in posting payments in the accounting system, and preparing Daily Deposit Report.
- Assist in researching and resolving retainer balances on dormant client accounts.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Function in accordance with established standards and procedures.
- Effectively and professionally interact and communicate with attorneys and support staff.

In this role, she was the liaison between the client and each specialty division to ensure the highest quality customer service and proven results. In 2010, Regan moved into a direct-hire recruiter role. She has been successful in filling all different types of positions for clients across several industries. In 2013, her husband's job transferred them to Dallas, and she is now a Sr. Direct-Hire Recruiter for Choice Specialists in Dallas, Texas.
