Senior Accountant - Houston, TX 77055
Reporting to the Director of Accounting Controls, the Senior Accountant will serve as a financial expert in assigned areas, driving process improvements and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role involves high attention to detail, advanced critical thinking, and a proactive approach to deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet adjustments, allocations, and reversals.
- Upload and consolidate financials and prepare supplemental reporting packages.
- Review work prepared by staff accountants and support subsidiaries with accounting matters.
- Reconcile and monitor high-risk liability, intercompany, and accrual accounts.
- Manage Blackline account reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and tracking progress.
- Collaborate with auditors to fulfill data requests and ensure SOX compliance.
- Conduct variance analysis and prepare financial statement commentary.
- Drive process improvements and complete additional assignments as needed. Qualifications :
- Required :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Preferred :
- CPA and / or master’s degree.
- Experience with JD Edwards, Consolidation, and Onstream.
