Quality Manager
Wage Range: $65,000 - $90,000 plus a yearly bonus.
Job Description: The Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organization’s products and/or development processes. Ensures the finished products meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Maintain plant compliance to HACCP, GMP’s, and SOP’s.
· Assist with new product development.
· Monitor daily product evaluation programs (scoring, quality indicators, shelf life).
· Maintain Plant Kosher Certification.
· Provide Daily leadership to Q.C. department.
· Develop and maintain raw ingredients and finished product specifications.
· Direct involvement with plant audits, in particular annual SQFI recertification.
· Oversee SQFI checklists and make sure they are completed appropriately.
· Ensure that established process control procedures are followed throughout the plant.
· Conduct regular plant food safety and food security audits.
· Traceability of finished goods, ingredients, and contact packaging.
· Noting issues with any ingredient or supply.
· Provide training to production workers on GMP’s, Food Safety, HACCP, and Food Security.
· Correspondence with customers on quality issues, tracing the occurrences.
· Manage Certificates of Analyses (COA’s) required by customers.
· Approve labels and assist with label development.
· Providing paperwork to salespeople and/or customers including product specifications, Certificate of Free Sale, Certificate of Analyses, Certificate of Origin, NAFTA certificates.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Demonstrates supervisory or managerial abilities.
· Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills.
· Works well independently and with a team.
· Strong problem solving, time management, and organizational skills.
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in food science
· Experience in low acid food manufacturing is preferred
